Presidents Message

Dear Members:

It is hard to believe that September is here and that summer is coming to an end.

We are now entering into our busiest time of the year - the final stretch towards our annual Christmas luncheon fundraiser.  You have already been contacted regarding this event.  Thanks

to all who are participating and will participate.  Your donations of time and/or items are

greatly appreciated.

The yearbook ad campaign will end August 31st so you can expect our 2010 - 2011 yearbooks

at the October meeting.

A big thank you to all members involved with our Volunteers-To-Go program.  The community

response has been excellent.  Needless to say, this program is a huge success.

Our Outstanding Woman of the Year Award recipient has been selected and will be announced

at the Kerrville Area Chamber of Commerce Awards Banquet.  Many thanks go to Leela Tondre

for chairing this committee.

Looking forward to seeing everyone at the September meeting.  Many thanks for your support

and consideration.

Until next month,

Dolores

Vicki Roark introduced our speaker Lainie Johnson.

Lainie is the Executive Director of the “ Pregnancy Resource Center” which used to be

known as the Alpha Omega Life Center. It is located in downtown Kerrville at 704 Jefferson

across from the Kerr County Courthouse.

The Pregnancy Resource Center offers over 135 Pre-natal and Parenting Classes. Through

these classes participants can accumulate points in the centers EWYL program. The points

can be accumulated and used for the purchase of necessary baby items available in the

center’s “Sarah Elizabeth’s Closet”. The items include strollers, car seats, play pens,

The  “ Pregnancy Resource Center” provides many Counseling and educational support and outreach programs. They are funded solely by area churches, individuals, businesses, and fundraising events. They were established back in1984 as the County Christian Action Council
